  • Hazel Park Schools Great Start Readiness Grant Program

    Welcome to the Hazel Park Schools Great Start Readiness Grant Program (GSRP) located at Webster Early Childhood Center. The Hazel Park GSRP program is a State of Michigan funded grant program that provides four full days of a tuition free high quality preschool program for qualifying four year old children. The HighScope curriculum, a research based curriculum, is used to prepare children for future school success.

     

    Our program consists of eight classrooms with 16 children per classroom and two teachers, our Early Childhood lead teachers have a teaching certificate and a Bachelor or Masters degree in Early Childhood, our associate teachers have a CDA or Associates degree in Early Childhood. We offer full day classes M-Th from mid September to early June with two meals and a daily snack. Transportation is available for Hazel Park families.     Hazel Park Preschool Academy

    The FREE Hazel Park Preschool Academy is new to the Hazel Park School District this school year. We are excited to welcome 3 and 4 year old students into the academy. Your child must be enrolled in the Hazel Park School District in order to attend. The enrollment office is in the Ford Central Office buildingat 1620 E. Elza, Hazel Park. Enrollment hours Monday – Friday are 8:30-4:30.

     

    The Preschool Academy will begin on September 19, 2016, at the Webster Early Childhood Center located at 431 W. Jarvis, Hazel Park, MI. 48030. School will be Monday – Thursday, 8:00- 3:00. The Hazel Park School District calendar will be followed.

     

    The Academy will be using Creative Curriculum, a best practice comprehensive researched-based curriculum that includes “exploration and discovery as a way of learning”. Children will build confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills to assist in promoting positive outcomes. They will also learn to develop appropriate social skills and how to work cooperatively with others.

     

    Join us for a Parent Orientation on September 13 and an Open House for students on September 14.
